TRD Rear Valance on STOCK bodied Celica?
As the title says, i'm trying to go for this look (red celica). As many of you may know, there's currently a trd rear being sold so i was thinking abt ditching WW rear lip and go for the TRD. i was just wondering what you guys think. I'm just trying to bring the rear lower and even with stock sides. PHOTOCHOP APPRECIATED

Chopped
judging by how the TRD rear lip sits on the silver celi, it will look a bit lower than stock sides....

Eww, no!
There's a silver Celica owner here that just has the rear lip on. The dude (and you) are smoking crack if you think that looks good.
Also, there's that one dude with just the Black Widow widebody rear bumper on his silver Celica as well.

i cant picture anything that i cant see in person -_- but what do you think abt shaving the rear valance to make it look less aggressive. i do like the red celica i posted up tho. looks like a shaved WW rear

To be honest i like that setup on that red celi but with a shaved rear, why dont you just get a whole kit instead.

definitely no, the front would look like it sits too high.

You do understand that this comment also applies to your "TRD rear lip only" question, right?

TRD rear lip shaven and modified =P but it seems like i'm better off getting a WW rear. Could be cheaper than having the TRD rear modified.

its not as bad as you might think... my sig is that exact setup, and you make it sound like its 6" higher than the sides. if im not mistaken the trd front is either the same, or even higher... could've sworn i read that somewhere.

the red celica you posted up is ervino on the site. Last time I remembered it was a molly rear he had. , defiantly the cleanest 3po on the site IMO

That doesn't make sense...why would you cut up an authentic piece and make it worthless by trying to make into something it wasn't meant to be. I'd say cut up the WW first and see where that gets you since they would look the same if you actually finished up the work to make it look like the red one.

Its actually cheaper for me to buy the authentic TRD rear from this local guy ($200) or brand new from dealership ($220+taxes after 20% discount) than to pay for a replica +shipping.

Oh wow ur right. I like your set up,but I Dont think it'll flow with a 00-02 front :/ always wanted an 03 front but its not a priority now.

I never understood the "how does this one or two piece fit with a stock body" ideas. I guess money is an issue fore some members but why not order the pieces as they become available or once they appear and just wait until you have the complete kit before mounting it.

some people just dont want a WHOLE kit like me , but i do want my rear to sit even with sides. but i'm liking how the TRD rear and sides look with an 03 front.

i think the color of your car makes a big difference too... the lighter the color, the more pronounced edges and heights become. ive seen a carbon blue or black celica that pulled off trd sides only and it didnt look bad... it looked ridiculous on my car though. darker hides better.

This thread is just
the only pience that flow with the oem sides is the molly caps and intalian molly reps.
ww rear sits higher than the TRD rear
incomplete kits are
and im pretty sure ervino would be pretty upset that you chopped out the cleanest lip out for a trd rear...

^ good input, i've never seen it done in person. i usually just see stock body celicas or TRD action package in my area.
but $150 for a trd rear valence, i wouldnt mind cutting up and chopping

It wouldn't.

It is.
Sorry, but incomplete kits look horrible. It's not always just about height, it's about how complex/elaborate a body kit is versus how bland and simple the stock body is. It just looks out of place. Could there be worse combinations than a TRD rear and stock sides/front? Absolutely. but it still wouldn't look good.

um alright man. half the world doesnt even realize it's not a complete kit anyways. its all paint matched, new rubber trim, etc etc. sure i'd like either a gracer lip or a trd front, but its not in the cards at the moment and i havent had a poor comment yet on it. however, just the rear lip, which is the point of this thread, i think would look pretty dumb lol.

-_- ahem rear lip modified and shaven in order to look subtle and less aggressive. Maybe close to a molly rear. I've just never been 10ft away from a TRD action package Celica.,so I wouldn't know how low the rear sits.

Personally I love the TRD rear and sides but i dont like how aggressive the front is. So for me its a matter of getting the sides and rear (found both for a really good price) and throwing them on while i figure out what front i want.
