God..there's so many good ones. I love the fact that you can play them all on emulators, now. It's awesome.

I've got a ton of favs, just like PieceofWork, let's see if I can bring back some memories for anyone, heheh:

First, the typical ones, All the street fighters, and VS. series, all the mortal kombats, pretty much all the fighting games. Plus, all the old-school games, like Pac-Man, Zaxxon, and Pitfall.

Let's see...there was this great shoot'em up with this fake lookin' space guns, two people could play, it was called "Space Wars" or something like that, and you shot all these aliens, and had to rescue the trapped people on a space coloney. You went from level to level by way of an elevator, and there were even times when you'd jump in a moon buggy and fight aliens on the way to the next part of the colony. I wasted so many quarters on that game. It's even better on emulation now, because you can use your 3D card to make the graphics look better. All the arcade gun ones, like Operation Wolf.

Umm, Cadash..that was awesome. Altered Beast, Space Harrier, Hang On, and Outrun, Teenage Mutan Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons, The Punisher, Samurai Showdown (da shiznit), Daytona USA, F355 Challenge (the super simmy-one), and that cool ass CyberFootbal game, the one with robots for players, that could play 4 players at a time. Rampage. And some of the games that first started using polygons, like Hard Drivin', Virtua Fighter (amazing for it's time, the FIRST 3D fighting game), and Virtua Racing.

Man..there's tons...but those were some of the best ones. There's still tons more I remember playing.

Archangel, now you are really going old school on us.
How in the world could I forget OutRun? That was one of the best driving games in its day. I also liked Cruising USA, Virtua Cop, NFL Blitz (My favorite game for taking out my frustrations on peeps ).

Chase HQ was one of my all time faves for 2 reasons. First, I like playing a lot of driving games. But second, the game featured my favorite car (Porsche 928 S4) as a pursuit car.

Other games I got a kick out of were Frogger, Oink!, Space Invaders, Centipede, Asteroids, Unreal Tournament, Halo.

Too bad there was only one drag racing game that I can't seem to remember the name to (All I recall was RPM something or other).

Hmm... ever sisnce I got my PC about 5 years ago, I havn't frequented the arcades much. I would have to say cruisin' USA/world for racing games.

As far as fighting games, it would have to be mortal combat, and street fighter. I also like tekken, it's a really good game, but I havn't played it at the arcade since I got my PS2.

If I had to choose just one though, I would say that it would be the origional PACMAN

You guys should check out www.classicgaming.com There's TONS of emulators, and you can find all the roms for the emulators there, or by using google. Although I must say..they've got tons!

Street Fighter II. best arcade game ever... especially the "Hyper Fighting" version.

I will always remember the huge crowds that would form around the SFII machines. and the tournaments were fun, too. kids today don't have a game like that.

Totally agree. Arcades are dead now, pretty much. Actually, I sorta take that back. I think today's version of Street Fighter and MK, is Dance Dance Revolution.

I see kids that have it MEMORIZED every level. Ridiculous.

The most addicting game ever .. the ruskies made it .. Tetris

At the arcades in the states I mostly played NBA JAM, all the fighting games and my favorite was the original seater car game, where you sit and pick out of four cars i think they were vette, porsche, and 2 different ferraris .. the game had auto or manual mode with a stick, and when you first started you had to go through a loop.. i loved that game, never got far in it though cause time always ran out

Ya dude..that's called Hard Drivin'. It's emulated actually..hehe. It's not the greatest game now, because you realize how crappy the control and gfx are by today's standards, but back then it was the shiznit.

Anyone ever play Stun Runner? That was awesome, with the little bike you get on, and it's got those gun controls, and then you go sliding through the tube, blowing up stuff, and collecting those triangles. Damn..that was a cool game!

This one:

If you're looking for a database of all the coolest arcade games...this one is the biggest one of them all.

Check it out..it's called K.L.O.V., or Killer List of Video Games:

http://www.klov.com/index.php

It's got pictures of the game, the cabinets, and even operator's manuals for the original games..heh.

Let me see if I can find Hard Drivin'!

Here's Hard Drivin':

I used to play both of these games at the Temple Mall Arcade. They sat right next to each other, and they had the coolest cabinets back then. Man..I miss those days!!

Ah..damn..I got the name of that one game up there wrong..it wasn't Space Wars, it's Space GUN..heh. It had pedals that you could press on to stop or go back so that you could pick up a powerup or save someone:

Ya...that was good!! Me and several of my friends during middle school blew TONS of cash playin' that game. I think we beat it like once....the music was awesome, and it was really scary! Closest thing to aliens, espescially since the movies were so big back then.

Plus, it had tons of power-ups that were in canisters on the walls:

A truly great arcade game.

As I was looking through screen shots, I started thinking of other games like Phoenix, Berserk or even Bosconian.

It was me being dumb.

There were loads of fast cars, about 80 under 13.5 secs, and 10 or so in the 11's and quicker, there were 4/5 running 10's, quickest time was a 10.1.

Oh, on a side note me and andy made it into a magazine! albeit 1cm tall figures in the background of a picture.. but what the hell

Woah...NICE pics..lol, your car looks awesome with those rims! That blue Supra is badazz, and man...so many RX-7s, I just don't feel special. The last chica is kinda trashy lookin' though.

Good stuff!

Hehe thanks, Mike took these pics. They were 1.3 meg each but Ive shrunk them. There are plenty more to look at, he took about 128 megs worth! Got plenty of video footage too, but I dont know about converting that to MPEG, need andys help for that

Who played Street fighter 2 Error?

There was a hacked version of street fighter out where you could block and do specials in the air, and everything was at super speed. You could throw like 30 sonic booms on the screen at once.

The street fighter series was the greatest fighter ever and paved the way for all future fighting games. The Mortal Kombat series was cool in its early stages as well.
