nitrous added maybe. Without it don't bother.
Should consider getting LSD as well.

Or you can go turbo and beat him every day instead of only when your bottle is full...

nitrous is also a cheaper route. Turbo kits are expensive...i think with good driving skills and the 55 shot, you have a chance..

it depends what you mean by expensive and cheap, are you talking about startup cost, or long term 1-2 years.

If you have a heavy foot and an itchy trigger finger, you can blow a tank of NOS like nothing, it may be cheaper to get it in the first place, but later on the refill costs will probably kill you.

Get a SC or Nitrous. It is cheaper than turbo in the long run.

U said you are running against a friend's Z that only has intake and exhaust.....run your nitrous and get a PFC with Boosted's harness that we are working on. With a good tune you should definitely be good to go.

gts04celi...

i had a race with a 350z a few weeks ago. 3 races in a row. i used my 50shot, of course.

he got pwned each time. yes they are very quick. but with a good nitrous set up at the correct bottle pressure and jetting, you will burn the Z like a whore.

my 2p.

unless of course the Z driver knows how to drive...fully bolt on Z...low 13's high 12's from what I've seen...Hell Vishus only has like an intake and exhaust and is capable of low 13's on street tires (based on her timeslip she posted, 1.9 60ft 103-104 traps)

i also have an angled plenum spacer and its not exhaust actually...its test pipes and a custom y pipe on stock exhaust....

ps...that time slip was on MT dr's

Memphis is right, alot of this depends on the drivers ability...you can be a sucky driver and spray yourself into oblivion and be up against a driver that knows their car, the cars limits, and know how to bend the limits without breaking them and you are going to be suprised what a car can do...
I AM NOT CELICA BASHING... not everyone dives their car the same...and alot of seat time makes a driver better in his car. I lived at the drag strip this summer. Every chance I got I was there. I pulled some good times, but I also have screwed up and got some really crappy times. But I stuck with it and got better at it.

When I first got the car I was on the interstates at 1~2 am just testing myself and the limits of the car, gradually getting to where I was comfortable... Will I do it again? Everytime I buy a car I will do this.

Well, anyway...MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY NEW YEAR! I <3 U GUYS!

Yea I know your low 13 was on DR's but the 60ft you pulled is possible on Street tires in a RWD car..1.9 is doable without DR's

I'm a member at a few of the Z boards, I used to have a Z but I traded it in for a Rav4 and a son. Fair trade, depending on the day Anywho, have fun with the S/C. Those vortechs are pretty straight forward install, and make the Z downright vicious. I've seen some pretty mean Vortech Z's at the meets. Congrats. I assume you're getting it professionally tuned? Don't rely on the OEM ECU because it's not going to account for your other mods, and you'll just be robbing yourself of power.

Yeah we are taking it to Z1 to get it tuned on the dyno and hopefully that will help it out some.

A friend of ours has one on an automatic and it was a low 12 second car. I was impressed to say the least.

Hopefully the car will be vicious...im tired of just being evil, lol

I hope yall all had a merry christmas!

i didn't read the hole thread, but on a 00 or 01 model with bolts on, we can beat or be even with 350z. here are some videos of Dan
his mods are
Intake, header, exhaust, power fc, and ported throttle body and port match manifold.

not to take your thunder dude..but the red Z he ran in the beginning (which is all I watched before i shut down the video)...Trapped 100 (trap of a stock Z about) and he trapped 99..Not only does he have a higher trap than the GTS, but if he knew how to drive the damn thing he would have ran anywhere from 13.8-13.6 second quarter mile with that trap on RWD..More importantly, the topic at hand is about a LESS modified 04 GTS (sans PFC and DR's) and a MORE modified 350z (not stock, but I/E)...needless to say what this outcome would be

That was a bad driver in the red Z. The celica, although a decent car, isn't in the same leaue as the 350Z, that's all there is to it. I saw a totally stock Z run the 1/4 at 13.67 last year... It takes a fully bolted celi (cams and headwork included) on DR's to get there.

Yea they arent in the same league, the Z has 100 more HP at the crank and over 150 more ft. lbs of TQ. There is actually a celica that has hit 13.7's without cams or headwork. I am not knocking you, but if you knew little more about the 2zz aftermarket you would know that cams have just recently come out. With not many people owning them, or even testing them yet, in my mind are not even proven to work well yet.
