Note - TRD Short Shifter assembly only works on Celicas from 00-late 01 models.. You can still use this assembly by taking the rod out and putting the rod in your 02+ assembly if you choose.

Here is the package that the shifter comes in... time for some fun :)

Tools Required..(Pliars, Phillps Head Screw Driver, Ratchet, Socket Extenders, 10mm Socket, 12mm Socket)

Start by removing the screws on each side of the front seats..

Unscrew the shifter from the base..

Unscrew these screws.. (one on each side)

Remove these 2 bolts in the center console..

Unscrew the window switch from the center console and then unplug the wiring harness from the power windows/door locks..

Unbolt these 2 bolts..

Now Unbolt these 2 bolts..

Now remove these clips holding the rods on with a pair of pliars.. just pull straight up on them..

Just another picture.. same as above..

Remove the black vinyl tape from the black plastic piece it is attatched to..

Remove the clip that holds the left rod onto the shifter..do NOT lose this piece

Remove the clip that holds on the bottom rod onto the shifter.. do NOT lose this piece

Just a picture of center console out with nothing there..

Now that I have the shifter out of the car I figure I might as well take some pictures of short shifter versus the stock shifter.. you can obviously see the height difference..

Another comparison pic..

Time to put it back in.. Reattatch the rods and put the clips back on..

Now put everything back the way you took it apart..

Some final pics of shifter in the car..

Now for my little review on the shifter.. I like it alot.. It is alot shorter than stock and you can definitely tell that the throw has been reduced.. The shifter is alot stiffer then stock and you can definitely tell what gear you are in as opposed to sometimes being confused with the stock shifter. Lastly the install was not really that hard though there were some things that were quite frustrating. So in my overall opinion for the money it costs (around 130) this is an effective & cheap mod..
