slamming on the brakes is the best way. If you still have the original window sticker it should list it on there, or look at your fuses and see if there is a slot for ABS and if you have a fuse in it.

 

when you first start your car if the ABS light goes on you have ABS if it doesn't you dont have ABS, or you can look under the car at the wheel hubs and look for the speed sensor, basically look for an electrical connector going to the wheel hubs

I was just wondering if there was a way to tell if you have ABS other than testing it by slamming on the brakes. I assumed it was a part of the vin but its not. I've got every option availible on the car.. I assumed it was part of an upgrade package not an individual option

If it's a 2000 Celica, chances are low that you have ABS, but really...if you don't have an ABS light come on, you don't have ABS.

 

I have a 2000, GTS and it has ABS... Also if you look between the battery and the firewall (down below the master cylinder) You will see the ABS actuator. I'm not sure where it is for GT's.

 

Thats what I figured.. its just the site I'm ordering rotors from asked me about it... and then I began to worry haha. I haven't ever slammed on the brakes hard enough yet to find out.

Yes. That's just a system check when it comes on at startup. If it stays lit, there's something wrong and you should have it looked at.
